Health and Wellness

Objective: To enhance the health and well-being of vulnerable women and men in West Nile and Uganda.

Key Interventions:

  • Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR): Advocate for the promotion of SRHR and improve the uptake of SRH commodities among young women and women of reproductive age. SCI focuses on providing advocacy and engaging both young women and men to access accurate SRHR information and quality services, contributing to better reproductive health.
  • Malaria Prevention: Efforts to raise awareness and engage communities in malaria prevention, ensuring access to preventive measures and treatments.
  • Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs): Enhance the capacity of young people to prevent STIs through life skills education, competence-building programs, and therapeutic activities aimed at minimizing the risk of transmission.
  • Combating Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV): Engage communities to prevent SGBV and support survivors. SCI offers counseling services, makes referrals to appropriate service providers, and builds community capacity to address SGBV through education and awareness programs.
  • Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Awareness: Raise awareness on early diagnosis and treatment of non-communicable diseases such as mental health issues, breast cancer, hypertension, and diabetes. SCI promotes wellness activities to help reduce the incidence and impact of these diseases, particularly among young women and men.
